Destination...

I sit here with my Mac on my lap, a roaring fire beside me, and a winter snowstorm is swirling outside my cottage window—all I see is white. A few days ago, my son asked if he could wear shorts to school. Such is the month of March in Ontario. My dreams of warmer weather will soon be answered.... I'm about to board a plane to a very hot destination. I do personal travel as much as I can. I like how it broadens your mind to new cultures, experiences, and perspectives—you (re)-learn how to live in the moment, to slow down, not take things for granted, and to fall in love with life...again. The great memories you make along the way are a bonus.

For me, it's always a new place, and experience, and this time my adventure will take me to Costa Rica. Hours of research resulted in paradise found, so I thought I'd share to save you the work. We're staying in Manuel Antonio's, Tulemar. They are first class people to deal with, and continue to find ways to "wow" me! Our private Villa is called Casa de Frutas.

So will this make your bucket list?

Maybe a better question to ask is: do you have one? A list of things you want to do—and will do—in life? If not, I'd like to strongly recommend you start one now! Make it big—no limits. And don't tuck it away in a journal or a drawer. Have you ever experienced the "out of sight—out of mind" phenomenon? Put it in a place where you'll see it often. Because it truly works...I'm living it.

Product...

I've become an unofficial herbal tea connoisseur—mostly because I drink massive amounts of the stuff. One I thoroughly enjoy is Republic of Tea.

You can order online, or sometimes you'll luck out and find it at your local healthfood store.

They have a fun variety to choose from! There's...

  • Get Happy, (just the smell alone makes you smile)
  • Get Smart (I drink this often)
  • Get Gorgeous (I can't drink this one often enough)
  • Get a Grip (I know a few people who could use this)
  • My personal favourite—Get Clean
  • And there are many more....

So get shopping, and enjoy!

Words...

What have you read lately? What thoughts are filling your brain? Are you leading a mentally stimulating life?

Researchers deducted that reading contributes to what's called a "cognitive reserve" (CR). According to the study, people with more CR are able to withstand injury to the brain—CR is what the brain does to protect itself and adapt to physical damage. I plan on living a long time and I want my mind to last as long as my body. But brain fitness aside, for me, reading helps refresh the body, mind, and soul. I always have my eReader in my purse—I never leave home without it.

"I don't have time to read," is a common statement I hear. If you knew it could improve the quality of your life, lower your risk of developing Alzheimer's, as well as educate, lift boredom, sadness, procrastination, even depression, would you find the time?

I thought so! So here's a book for you to enjoy.

Great perspective. Everyone can benefit from the wisdom in this one.

I love the saying: "idea's don't work unless You do". So on that note, I'm off.... A few big projects have me really busy right now, and any spare time seems to be swallowed by my book—which has a tight writing deadline so I won't be blogging for a few months. I promise a big celebration when I return.

Happy Spring!
